Delhi..

life is good.
and so is traveling alone
all day long im just meeting people who help me.
on the plane i met people who took me to a cheep hostel for my first night then they introduced me to an israeli who showed me a really straight guy to book my ticket to kashmir from, who then introduced me to these great kashmiri guys. one of which spent the day with me helping me try to change my useless shekels (which i cant, what a mistake)the other who has a carpet shop and happens to have a great afghani rug with kalshnikovs hand sewn on it(which i always wanted)
Umer, who walked arounf with me and made sure i wasnt ripped off all day, will meet me in kashmir next week and take me to his friends wedding there. i then randomly met a photographer i know from Jerusalem (wendy, small world)
everything is grand, no culture shock (yet) no delhi belly (yet) but alas also very little sleep for 3 days straight.hopefully all that ill change tomorrow on the houseboat.
hugs to all!

Amman!

passage through the border went very smoothly!
all the warnings and fears i had were soon quelled
from the Israeli soldier who let sheera dive me all the way to the crossing so i wouldnt have to take a cab (granted only after assuming we dont undersand hebrew and telling her comrade to only pretend to get us permission to pass, so that she wouldnt have to take the 2 minutes to check the car)
to the other gaurd that asked me for my israeli passport but then let me cross anyway (israelis are not suposed to cross from Allenby) there were no people in either crossing and it went by quickly.
i even made an American friend who is living here and studying arabic who is hosting me wonderfully with tea and internet access.
Amman looks like a mix between Ramallah and Nablus if they had been given a chance to develop over the years.
The windy road from the crossing to here was nausiating but beautiful. mostly arid desert peppered with trees here and there

now im off to the airport

India here i come!
